Nick Maggio
Dr. Nick Maggio serves as the Assistant Director for Wildfire Technology at the Oregon Hazards Lab (OHAZ) at the University of Oregon, where he is dedicated to protecting communities across the Pacific Northwest by pioneering rapid wildfire detection, enhancing real-time situational awareness, and building resilient emergency communications networks. Through groundbreaking efforts such as AI-powered wildfire detection cameras, the ShakeAlert earthquake early warning system, the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, and the SAGE environmental monitoring network, OHAZ stands at the forefront of disaster mitigation and public safety.
