The National Data Platform (NDP) is transforming how researchers, educators, and innovators access and collaborate with data and AI services across diverse scientific applications. As a federated and extensible data ecosystem funded by the National Science Foundation, the NDP provides scalable computing infrastructure that removes traditional barriers to data-intensive research and education. Developed by the Societal Computing and Innovation Lab at UC San Diego's San Diego Supercomputer Center, in partnership with the University of Utah, the University of Colorado Boulder, and the EarthScope Consortium, the platform enables users to explore data collections, deploy AI services, and participate in real-world educational challenges. The open-source codebase from the National Data Platform powers the Wildfire Commons.
