Carrie Levine

Director

I am a forest and fire ecologist with over a decade of experience quantifying wildfire behavior and effects across the Western U.S., driven by a deep interest in the processes that shape wildfire dynamics, fuel accumulation, and vegetation growth to inform actionable strategies for ecosystem management and wildfire hazard mitigation. Currently, I serve as the Director of Sustainable Forests and Agriculture at Spatial Informatics Group and as the technical science lead for Planscape—an open-source decision support and landscape modeling tool designed to enhance wildfire resilience and ecological outcomes nationwide. I thrive on collaboration across academia, industry, and the nonprofit sector to amplify the impact of wildfire science and translate technical innovations into practical tools. I hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from the University of California, Berkeley.
